In the house, there are four sizeable bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. A media lounge conveniently removes the intrusion of DVD, video and Sky satellite TV from the other communal rooms, although a Bose music system can blast through the house, if not controlled.

The ground floor, which would have originally housed animals, now has a lovely sitting room, with original fireplace [moved from the first floor], large dining room and exceptional kitchen. This was a real indulgence and is a genuine ‘commercial’ kitchen, for which most chefs would happily sharpen their knives. All stainless steel, there is a powerful stove with oven, open burners and griddle, below an extraction canopy. A centre counter work surface also houses all the refrigeration drawers [the remote compressor is in the cellar to avoid noise]. Against the opposite wall is another run of steel countering, including a marble slab for pastry work. A commercial espresso coffee machine from Bezzera [the inventors of the espresso system] finishes off a real kitchen to cook in; as a small reminder that the place is only a home, there is a domestic dishwasher.
