The main square in Pamiers
The main square in Pamiers. This is the large square in the centre of Pamiers, our nearest town. They have 3 open air food markets per week and flea market every Sunday morning. In the summer the Fete de Pamiers is held here, and many people can be seen waltzing across the square

 Lac Montbel
Lac Montbel. This lake is approximately a 45 minute drive. It has very fresh clear water (mountain snow melt) and is good for a number of recreational activities including fishing, swimming, kayaking and pedalos.

 View at Plateau Beille
Plateau de Beille near Les Cabannes. This is a really beautiful mountain plateau, where in the winter one can do cross country ski-ing on marked pistes. In the summer, you could sit on the terrace of the restaurant, marvel at the view across the Pyrenees or hike across the plateau on marked footpaths.

 Mirepoix
Mirepoix. This is the beautiful medieval town of Mirepoix, only a 25 minute drive. The square hosts a wonderful open air market each Monday morning and the pavements are covered by "couverts" (over-hanging buildings). A real step back in time.

 Rolling countryside
This is true Cathar countryside situated all around us. You don`t have to go very far to see this view! There are many walks sign-posted through this kind of countryside.
